Bugs Bunny was created during World War 2, but the character is not related to the military or the war effort. He is a gray and white rabbit, that shows an unusually high level of intellect for a leporid. In his many appearances, he is frequently depicted speaking English, walking erect, singing opera, dressing in human clothing (though his gender recognition is, at times, somewhat suspect), and outwitting human hunters and outlaws. None of these traits are typical for a rabbit. Perhaps that is why he was chosen to appear on this hat.Also, the ears are attached only at the base, which makes the hat unusual from other hats. So there's that.
